This is Bridget. She has three kids, she is an accountant, she's going back to school for her second bachelor's degree, she loves to cook and she was married for 20 years to Tim. In 2009 he was diagnosed with a rare form of Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease. He currently resides in a memory care facility at the age of 55. He cannot speak, and he has reached the point of not being able to immediately recognize friends and family members.

1. Tell me a little bit about Tim. What was he like, what were some of his favorite pass-times and how did the two of you meet?

2. The two of you were involved in a car accident in 1990. Can you tell me about that? 

3. When did you and/or Tim first begin to notice the signs or symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease? 

4. Can you tell me about the diagnosis process? How long did it take before Tim was formally diagnosed with Early Onset AD?

5. Tell me about the progression of the disease? How did it affect his work, his personality and his life at home? How rapidly did his condition deteriorate?

6. How has Tim's condition affected you? Tell me about your experience. How has it affected the kids? How are they coping?

7. Tell me about the process of admitting Tim to an assisted living facility. Describe some of the hurdles you faced. Tell me about the decision to move Tim into a memory care facility. What was that like for you, for Tim and the family.

8. What are some of your concerns, fears or worries for Tim, yourself or the kids?

9. What has this experience taught you? Do you have any advice for someone in a similar situation?

10. What advancements in technology have you seen that you are encouraged by? What are some of your overall feelings about the current healthcare system? Will legislation being proposed in congress have an affect on Tim's care?
